Dr. Chung's research interests include the investigation of heritable retinal degenerations and age-related macular degeneration. As a member of ARIA, she is developing new adaptive optics technology for retinal imaging to study early cellular changes in retinal disease. She was awarded a research grant from the National Eye Institute to study patients with age-related macular degeneration using adaptive optics imaging technology. Dr. Chung is a co-investigator in several national multicenter trials studying age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
